NewsGCSE Blood Brothers Trip

29 January 26

On Wednesday 28th January, Year 10 and 11 Drama students had an exciting day at the ‘Belgrade Theatre’ in Coventry. Students were amazed at the raw emotion displayed on stage, with crowd favourites being Mrs Johnstone, Mickey and Linda thanks to their highly engaging character portrayals. Students were so emotionally engaged that they were in tears at the shocking end of the performance. This curriculum trip provides students with the opportunity to explore their Exam Set Text on stage in real life, focusing on the performative and Stage Design elements that they will be questioned on in their GCSE exam. Seeing the text transform from page to stage is transformative in their understanding of the play and helps to shape their own dramatic intentions on how to play each role. The Academy students demonstrated exemplary behaviour and were real ambassadors for our Academy.

All Saints’ Academy has been a place where I've been able to thrive in my academics and as a person as well. One thing that made me want to attend All Saints’ Sixth Form was the inclusivity and diversity of what makes the school shine.
