Welcome from the Principal

This week our school community came together to mark Remembrance Day with three special services held across the academy. Each service focused on the importance of love — reminding us that love is not simply a feeling, but something demonstrated through our actions. As we paused to remember the courage and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in service to others, we reflected on the words from 1 John 3:16:

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

This verse reminds us that true love is shown through selflessness and compassion — values at the very heart of the All Saints’ Way. By putting other people’s needs before our own, we follow the example of Christ and those who have made sacrifices for the good of others.

We were also proud to take 15 of our cadet students to the open-air Remembrance Service at St Aidan’s Garden in West Cheltenham, where they represented the academy with dignity and respect alongside local schools, veterans, and members of the wider community.

As we look ahead to the festive season, we want to warmly invite all students, families, and friends to join us for Carols in the Courtyard on Thursday 4th December at All Saints’ Academy — a joyful evening of music, reflection, and community spirit as we prepare to celebrate Christmas together.

Before half term we welcomed BBC Bitesize Careers into school to deliver their roadshow event, where panellists from a range of carers spoke to students from Year 8 – 13 about their own education journeys, the pros and cons of their jobs and how their careers have unfolded. It was a brilliant event which we were lucky to be a part of. We also had Gloucestershire College, Hartpury College and Bridge Training Ltd in to talk to Year 11 about post-16 courses and opportunities. Career advice 1:1s have started for Year 11s to help them make sense of their options and decisions about their next steps. These will resume after mocks. If any parents/guardians want additional information or to meet with Mrs Farrow (Careers Lead) about future options, please contact her on nfarrow@asachelt.org.

Now is the time of year when many employers run apprenticeship information evenings and universities run taster days. The Gloucestershire Careers Hub has a Facebook page where you can find information about events across the county – https://www.facebook.com/GloucsCareersHub. As there are so many external careers events that are specifically targeted for students in Sixth Form, we have now started up a weekly information bulletin with information about them, so that they can sign up. This will be emailed directly to students.

Thank You for a Wonderful Sixth Form Open Evening

We want to thank everyone who attended our recent Sixth Form Open Evening. It was fantastic to see so many prospective students and families exploring our facilities, meeting our staff, and learning about the opportunities that await them in our Sixth Form. Thank you also to our wonderful Year 12 and 13 students and alumni who supported their teachers on the subject stands and facilitated tours of the Academy – we couldn’t have done it without you!

The evening was a tremendous success, and we were delighted by the enthusiasm and thoughtful questions from students who are considering joining us for the next stage of their educational journey.
